Eight Popular Hair Removal Methods

The purpose of hair removal is to remove the hair and make the effects last as long as possible. However, many of the methods out there are painful. In this article we look at some methods that are (relatively) painless!
Eight Popular Hair Removal Methods

People are constantly looking for hair removal methods to get rid of annoying, unwanted hair. This isn’t just about shaping your eyebrows or shaving your beard. The goal of new methods is to make the hairy areas look like there was never any hair.

Varied hair removal methods abound and some of them are quite aggressive. In all cases, the goal is to temporarily achieve smooth, hairless skin.

However, despite our technological advancements, the majority continue to resort to painful procedures. Let’s take a look at some of these hair removal methods, and which ones are the easiest, most effective and less painful.

Hair Removal Methods

1. Hot wax

Removing hair with wax

This is one of the most commonly used hair removal methods. You can do it at home, following the proper procedures. It is also one of the most effective methods  as compared to other methods.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you are applying hot wax to your skin. The high temperature combined with the way you pull the hairs out can irritate sensitive skin. This is the main reason why this method is not recommended for sensitive areas such as:

  • sight
  • armpits
  • genitals

2. Cold wax

The risk of burns is significantly reduced with this method, although it also has two downsides. The first and most important thing is that you need to use more force to pull the wax strip off your skin. The risk of injury is therefore greater. In addition, you should use hair removal strips with it.

3. Brightening Cream

This method is often used on people with thin body hair. Since you don’t have to remove hair, this is a good method to hide the hair without having to remove it.

4. Hair Removal Cream

Depilatory cream is the cheapest of all hair removal methods and it is also practical and painless. Also, it is quite effective as an emergency option in summer.

However, it is not a good permanent method. The main drawback is that it does not remove the hair follicle, so it is just like shaving. You will have to apply it often if you choose to.

5. Razor Blades

This is always a good hair removal method, especially after an unexpected invitation to the pool! Try to use a new blade every time and always use it with shaving cream to avoid cuts.

6. Electric Shaver

These devices are especially suitable for shaving and grooming facial hair. They are relatively easy to use and quite practical. However, not everyone likes this. Users say that razors can be uncomfortable and even painful.

Something to keep in mind is that it is important to clean the device thoroughly after each use. Otherwise, the risk of inflamed hair follicles is higher.

7. Threading

This is an ancient hair removal method that uses cotton or silk thread. It is accurate, but slightly aggressive. It is especially recommended for shaping perfect eyebrows and other parts of the face.

8. Laser hair removal

This is the most effective of all hair removal methods, especially for people with a lot of hair, whether it be hormonal problems or genetic causes.

This laser method produces a tolerable feeling of heat, so it is not painful at all. It removes the hair follicle with this heat, removing the hair in its entirety.

Choose the best hair removal methods for you

As painful as it can be, waxing is one of the cheapest options. Most salons recommend it to their clients and claim that it is easier and more efficient than other hair removal methods.

However, make sure you choose the method that works best for you. As you can see, it is possible to find non-aggressive hair removal methods depending on the characteristics of your hair and needs.
